DERIVAN OPEN DAY

Derivan Open Day 2011 Banner

It’s was on once again! At Derivan, we opened the minds to all who came to the creative possibilities our products have to offer and all for free!

Amongst the kid's activities, screen printing and the food on offer, we had a number of successful sheduled workshops allowing for hands-on experience and creative friendships to be shared by all participants. Demonstrators showcased their skills in landscape painting, calligraphy, t-shirt printing, model painting, folk art and a whole lot more.

This year the weather behaved and we all enjoyed a rewarding day indoors and out. A few memories, as images of the day, are displayed below that we would like to share with you.

open day sizzle

Entry to our Open Day is always free and it is an opportunity to "open" the doors to the public and connect with those of whom have supported us over the years.
The first 200 visitors were lucky enough to receive a free sample of our products that got their creative day started followed by an Open Day filled with various activities and inspiring works on show.
Artists and craft persons demonstrated various techniques on the day including landscape sketching, watercolour techniques, miniature figure painting and gaming, decorative art, calligraphy, printmaking and much more.

The kid's corner was another inspiring success with activities like face painting, plaster design and paint, and even a mural, in which children were encouraged to help putting the final painting finishes to it.

Ever seen an open barrel of acrylic paint? Or wondered how we actually get the paint into the tube? Our factory tours showcased not only how we make our products, but also our manufacturing commitment to reducing waste and our carbon footprint. Technical questions were answered and product knowledge shared. As in previous years, the sausage sizzle and Open Day T-shirt sale table proved to be an important element of Derivan's commitment to help the community which we belong to, all proceed sales (with almost $700 raised), going to Variety The Childrens Charity.

The day was a substantial achievement in extending ourselves to our customers and have the oportunity to establish new or re-connect with our creative client base. Although we are a major force in the retail art world, we remain a family owned Australian company with a commitment to inspiring Australians just like you.

A big THANK YOU to all involved on the day, visitors, helpers, demonstrators, artists and visitors - another successful Open Day achieved!
